Freelance copyeditor

A freelancer with more than 10 years of copyediting experience trying to explore new avenues in freelance copyediting. A post-graduate in English language and literature from Calicut University, I started my copyediting career in New Delhi in 2001 with Techbooks International Pvt Ltd, currently Aptara. The work involved editing journal articles mainly for the Institute of Physics Publishing, UK. It was where I learned the nuances of copyediting and received the Quality Assurance Award for the work done. Three years later, I moved to a government funded project Centre for Studies in Civilizations, which brought out Volumes on Indian History, Culture, Science and Philosophy. Over there, the nature of my work expanded to correspondence with authors/editors, freelance copyeditors and typesetters, ensuring the quality of the finished product in the stipulated time period. I worked at Planman Technologies for a period of 2 years. Since then, its been generally freelancing only.
